Onchan’s two sitting MHKs have both declared their intention to stand again in the September general election.
Rob Callister said he has been a strong voice to ensure good governance and oversight over such issues as the Area Plan for the East and Manx Gas.
Mr Callister, who was first elected to the House of Keys in September 2016, said: ’My primary focus has always been on representing Onchan together with the wider Manx community through supporting individuals, scrutinising government policies and ensuring the right decisions are backed up by solid evidence, however difficult those decisions might be.’
Julie Edge, who is currently chairman of Isle of Man Post Office, has also announced her intention to retain her Onchan seat.
She said: ’Since being elected to proudly serve the constituents of Onchan in September 2016, I have been fully committed to scrutinising and challenging the decisions of government, holding them to account and striving for greater transparency and accountability.’
